Feasibility Study Consultant – Social Enterprise Model for Child Rights

About the role

Terre des hommes seeks an experienced consultancy firm or independent consultant to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study on establishing a full or hybrid social enterprise model for delivering its Child Rights and Business advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal, governance and operational feasibility analysis for a full or hybrid social enterprise model.
• Benchmark peer NGOs that have created similar social‑enterprise structures and extract best practices.
• Assess the tax regime implications for a potential enterprise while preserving Tdh’s tax‑exempt status.
• Develop a comprehensive risk assessment covering organizational, financial, legal, operational, reputational, strategic, safeguarding, cybersecurity and compliance risks, with mitigation measures.
• Provide a detailed pathway for legal set‑up, recommended governance structure, and the minimum documentation, policies and procedures required for effective management and accountability.
• Analyse business model options, revenue streams, financial sustainability and break‑even scenarios over a 3–5‑year horizon.

Required profile

• Proven experience in non‑profit restructuring, social‑enterprise design, and legal/tax advisory.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss non‑profit law, tax‑exempt status requirements and hybrid entity frameworks.
• Ability to conduct strategic, financial and risk analyses and produce actionable recommendations.
