Financial Accountant

About the role

Swissquote is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its Finance Department. Reporting to the Accounting Team Lead, you will ensure the highest standards of financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting excellence in a fast‑paced digital banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries in line with applicable GAAPs (IFRS, ARB‑FINMA, local GAAP).
• Produce accounting schedules and reconciliations for the Swiss bank and its foreign subsidiaries.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings, including half‑year and year‑end statements.
• Take responsibility for specific topics and notes to the financial statements and answer external auditor queries.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, unusual movements and ageing items.
• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, pre‑payments and other accounting adjustments.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to provide timely, accurate financial information.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment and handling multiple reporting cycles.
• Proactive attitude to identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
• Ability to support senior management with financial planning, analysis and reporting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Familiarity with Swiss GAAP (ARB‑FINMA) and local GAAP for subsidiaries.
• Expertise in general ledger accounting and financial closing processes.
