Global Category Manager - Production Services

About the role

Holcim is looking for a Global Category Manager for Production Services in Zug, Switzerland. As the primary procurement authority for the Production Services category, the role leads the transformation and value creation in Maintenance Services (mechanical and electrical, industrial cleaning, refractory, etc.) and Engineering Services globally. It reports to the Head of CAPEX & Industrial and drives professional category management, key supplier management and supply chain risk reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global category strategy for Production Services across AMEA, LATAM and EU regions, and build resilient supply chains through supplier diversification and business continuity plans.
• Drive initiatives such as refractory services, scaffolding, internal material handling, industrial cleaning and belt conveyor services, using should-cost models, TCO-based evaluations and medium-to-long term contracts.
• Manage third-party spend through country operational models and demand management for major plant and kiln shutdowns.
• Implement the Sustainable Procurement framework, manage contractor risks (H&S, labour compliance, environment, anti-bribery) and frame agreements with key suppliers.
• Run BCC sourcing strategies for services, using sourcing teams in China and India and supplier networks in Turkey and the EEU.
• Act as the main interface between Global Procurement, CEM, AGG, Geocycle, PM&E and regional category managers, and develop standard Scope of Work and specifications.
• Lead procurement in capital projects and provide CAPEX integration for engineering services, general contracting and heavy equipment installation.

Required profile

• University degree in procurement, world economics or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of international experience in strategic sourcing, procurement transformation and category management for direct and indirect spend in heavy industry, cement, concrete, aggregates and mining.
• At least 5 years of direct experience in two of those areas, including leading operational procurement teams and supplier diversification in high-risk or sanctioned environments.
• Proven track record of multimillion-euro savings and managing spend portfolios of 100M+ EUR.
• Experience with complex CAPEX sourcing projects for quarry/mining equipment (at least 10 projects over 10 million EUR in more than 3 countries), quarry fleet optimisation and large cement plant revamps.

Required skills

• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluation, cost modelling and capital allocation analysis.
• Cross-functional procurement transformation and multi-modal logistics optimisation.
• Knowledge of plant maintenance (TPM, RCM, major shutdowns) and contracting regimes such as FIDIC.
• Familiarity with sustainable procurement and pre-qualification platforms such as Ecovadis and Avetta.
