Head of Consolidation and Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Head of Consolidation and Accounting to join our Finance department at the company headquarters in Cham, near Zurich. Reporting directly to the VP Group Accounting & Controlling, you will lead the consolidation and reporting processes for a global energy‑technology company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing and consolidation for all legal entities.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and high‑quality management information.
• Maintain and improve the accounting and reporting framework to meet accounting standards and internal governance.
• Supervise preparation of statutory and consolidated financial statements and meet all deadlines.
• Oversee intercompany reconciliation and ensure consistent reporting across entities.
• Act as primary contact for external auditors and manage the audit process.
• Provide accounting guidance on complex transactions and reporting issues.
• Develop accounting policies, process documentation and internal controls.
• Support the CFO with financial reporting to management and shareholders.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and simplification of accounting processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting and consolidation team.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA or Swiss Certified Accountant) is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, consolidation and reporting in an international or multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP and consolidation tools, especially IBM Cognos.
