Head of Finance

About the role

Adaptyv is building the world’s most automated lab, enabling AI agents to design and run biology experiments. As the first finance hire, you will lead the creation of an AI‑powered finance stack that automates forecasting, closing, cash management, and margin analysis across two entities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the financial forecast, combining bottom‑up lab capacity data with top‑down P&L, burn and runway projections.
• Determine gross margin by calculating the true cost of each experiment, including DNA, reagents, consumables, instrument time and labour.
• Set and manage pricing strategy in partnership with commercial teams, ensuring pricing reflects cost structure.
• Lead the month‑end close, handling group consolidation, inter‑company transactions and ensuring accuracy.
• Manage cash flow, bank and card accounts in Switzerland and the US, oversee AP runs, AR collection and payment timing.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance professional capable of building forecasts from scratch.
• Experience running month‑end close for multiple entities.
• Proven ability to manage cash, banking and treasury functions.
• Strong analytical mindset to assess experiment‑level costs and pricing.
• Comfort working in a fast‑growing biotech/AI environment.
