Head of Finance

About the role

Adaptyv is building the world’s most automated lab and needs a finance leader to create an AI‑powered finance stack. As the first finance hire you will be hands‑on, shaping forecasting, closing, cash management and cost analysis for a fast‑growing biotech company.

Key responsibilities

• Own the financial forecast, combining bottom‑up lab capacity modelling with top‑down P&L, burn and runway analysis.
• Determine gross margin by calculating the true cost of each experiment (DNA, reagents, consumables, instrument time, labour).
• Set pricing strategy together with commercial teams, defining pricing floors and value‑based pricing.
• Lead the month‑end close, including group consolidation, inter‑company management and automation of reconciliation.
• Manage cash across Swiss and US bank and card accounts, oversee AP/AR processes and optimise payment timing.
• Build and extend API‑driven finance tools to automate ledger, billing, cards and payroll.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance roles within high‑growth technology or biotech environments.
• Hands‑on mindset with a track record of building scalable finance processes.
• Strong analytical abilities and comfort working with AI‑driven automation.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, especially with engineering and commercial teams.
