Health and Aging Policy Fellowship 2026-2027

About the role

The Health and Aging Policy Fellowship runs from October 2026 to September 2027 and seeks professionals to help shape health and aging policies across the United States. Fellows will gain hands‑on experience translating scientific evidence into actionable public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct policy analysis and develop recommendations for federal, state, or community health initiatives.
• Support legislative or executive staff as a legislative assistant, professional staff member, or policy analyst.
• Participate in track‑specific projects, such as behavioral health policy, caregiver policy, or VA‑related policy work.
• Engage with stakeholders to translate clinical and scientific insights into policy proposals.

Required profile

• Professional background in health, aging, public health, or related fields.
• Interest in influencing policy at the federal, state, or community level.
• For the Caregiver Policy track, residence in Western New York or southeastern Michigan; for the VA track, current VA employment.
• Ability to prepare a budget outlining employer or external funding support.
