Intern - Data Analysis and Visualization

About the role

The United Nations Office at Geneva offers an internship in data analysis and visualization in Geneva, lasting 3 to 6 months. The intern supports the design and development of advanced data analytics and visualization solutions that help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of JIU processes, contributing to the delivery of the JIU mandate. Tools developed may be used only by JIU staff or made available to the public through the JIU website.

Key responsibilities

• Support and contribute to the design and development of advanced data analytics and visualization solutions.
• Work under the supervision of the JIU Executive Secretary or delegated Evaluation and Inspection Officers.
• Familiarize yourself with the mandate and processes of many UN entities and gain exposure to the field of oversight.

Required profile

• Minimum educational qualification: High School Diploma.
• Enrolled in or has completed the final year of a first university degree (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent), or enrolled in or has completed a second university degree or higher.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Interns are not paid by the United Nations; costs for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution. Non-citizen applicants may need a visa and work authorization. The United Nations charges no fee at any stage of the recruitment process.
