Intern: Talent Attraction and Outreach

About the role

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is the leading UN entity on human rights. Its Human Resources Management Section's Recruitment Unit is developing a strategy for talent attraction, sourcing and outreach to diverse candidate pools, including identifying and engaging qualified candidates. This internship reports to the Associate Human Resources Officer and supports those initiatives. The work location is flexible and the expected duration is three to six months.

Key responsibilities

• Support talent sourcing and outreach activities across various platforms and databases
• Assist in attracting diverse candidate pools through outreach and engagement initiatives
• Help maintain candidate pipelines or rosters
• Contribute to employer branding and talent attraction strategies
• Support colleagues in other recruitment-related initiatives
• Perform related tasks as required

Required profile

• Student in the final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or PhD programme, or someone who has completed such a degree
• No professional work experience required; a field of study closely related to the internship is required
• Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage

Required skills

• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially the MS Office Suite
• Ability to use creative tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop or other design software is desirable
• Ability to draft and design social media posts is desirable
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams
