Internet Governance Internship

About the role

The Internet Governance Internship is based in the IGF Secretariat at the United Nations Office in Geneva. The intern will support technical and program facilitation for the Internet Governance Forum, contributing to the development of the annual meeting and intersessional activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support for IGF program platforms, including scheduling, room reservations, and remote participation setups.
• Assist with website functions, design, and web‑application functionality.
• Support the implementation of social‑media campaigns.
• Help deliver training for remote‑participation support staff.
• Compile annual participation statistics and media analysis.
• Contribute to planning and development of intersessional work, national, regional and youth IGF initiatives.
• Assist with interface design or layout of final IGF output documents.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or have completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree, a master’s programme, or a Ph.D. programme (or equivalent).
• Field of study closely related to internet governance, ICT policy, or a similar area.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
