Junior Communications Assistant

About the role

Art Basel is seeking a Junior Communications Assistant to support its global press office and communications team. Based in Basel, the role will work across the organisation’s flagship shows in Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong, Paris and Qatar, as well as year‑round initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update press office databases, administrative systems and internal processes.
• Serve as the first point of contact for media enquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
• Coordinate distribution of press materials, manage digital press kits and online media platforms.
• Monitor media coverage, compile reports and provide insights to the communications team.
• Handle press accreditation for all Art Basel events and shows.
• Draft and edit press releases, media updates, website content and internal communications.
• Assist in preparing briefing materials and supporting content for stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to website updates and other digital platform maintenance.
• Support planning and execution of press events, including conferences and media briefings.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Interest in contemporary art and experience working in a fast‑paced, international environment.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
