Lead Mobile App Developer

About the role

Magnes AG is seeking a motivated Lead Mobile App Developer to own the iOS companion app for its sensorized shoes used in gait analysis and cueing. The app is a Class IIa medical device that communicates with the shoes via BLE and Wi‑Fi, handles firmware updates, records sensor data, and visualises gait results for patients, therapists and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the NUSHU iOS applications (patient, research and well‑being variants), including BLE/Wi‑Fi communication, firmware delivery and device debugging.
• Design and implement user‑centred interfaces, conduct usability tests with clinicians and patients, and ensure the app meets regulatory requirements.
• Manage versioning, changelogs, App Store submissions, TestFlight distribution and maintain a robust automated test suite.
• Collaborate closely with firmware, cloud‑analysis and clinical teams, contributing to documentation and verification activities for medical device certification.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong command of Swift and the Apple development toolchain.
• Practical experience with SwiftUI and UI/UX design.
• Hands‑on experience with wireless interfaces (CoreBluetooth, GATT, NetworkExtension) and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of local data persistence (SQLite, Core Data) and platform security (Keychain, on‑device encryption).
• Experience writing unit and UI tests (XCTest, dependency injection).
• Ability to ship apps via App Store Connect, including code signing, provisioning and TestFlight.
