Legal Advisor (Data Protection)

About the role

The Independent Institution on Missing Persons (IIMP) seeks a Legal Advisor specialized in Data Protection to strengthen its institutional awareness and capacity. This remote consultancy will develop and deliver a comprehensive training programme on the IIMP Data Protection Policy, SOPs, and related privacy obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Finalize and update training materials aligned with IIMP data protection policies and applicable regulations.
• Design practical tools such as presentations, case studies, exercises, and quick‑reference guides.
• Deliver tailored training sessions to IIMP staff on data protection principles, privacy obligations, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Provide guidance on conducting data impact assessments and implementing data protection procedures.
• Collect attendance records, participant feedback, and produce a final training report with recommendations.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Data Protection, Privacy Law, International Law or a related field.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or related legal advisory roles.
• Proven experience designing and delivering training programmes on privacy and information governance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, local privacy laws).
• Ability to develop SOPs, policies, and training materials.
• Facilitation and adult‑learning techniques for effective training delivery.
• Conducting data impact assessments and providing practical implementation guidance.
