Machine Diagnostics Engineer - Pump Technology

About the role

Sulzer is looking for a full-time Machine Diagnostics Engineer to join its Flow division in Switzerland. You will carry out machine diagnostics activities related to pump technology and contribute to technology development and support in experimental dynamics, vibration and modal analysis, acoustics and related data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Work on machine diagnostics projects and develop machinery diagnostic and pump condition monitoring solutions
• Analyse pump and system operation data
• Carry out vibration, acoustic and other dynamic measurements in the testbed, analyse and interpret the data
• Support test bed activities with experimental dynamics, sensor and data acquisition work
• Perform field vibration surveys and analysis on pumps
• Occasionally travel to test facilities, customer sites or other locations

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge and experience in vibration and modal analysis
• Ideally 3-4 years of experience in machine dynamics, vibration, experimental modal analysis, acoustics, machinery diagnostics, condition monitoring and data analysis
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation and experimental test campaigns
• Solid understanding of rotating equipment; pump technology experience is a plus
• Fluent English; German is a plus
