Managing Director - Data & AI

About the role

Unit8 is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Data & AI practice in the DACH market. The role combines commercial leadership with deep technical credibility, driving high‑value engagements from inception through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, shape, and close new high‑value client opportunities in pharma, insurance, and chemicals across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
• Build and nurture long‑term relationships with C‑suite executives while staying embedded in project delivery to ensure outcomes meet business objectives.
• Translate complex business challenges into concrete Data & AI solutions and guide delivery teams to execute them.
• Act as the bridge between senior data scientists and senior business stakeholders, communicating technical constraints and strategic implications.
• Raise delivery standards by defining what good looks like and holding teams accountable.

Required profile

• Proven track record of originating and closing complex, high‑value engagements in the DACH region.
• Strong network within pharma, insurance or chemical industries.
• Ability to combine commercial acumen with deep technical understanding of data science and AI.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and influencing senior executives.
