Manufacturing Engineer – Magnet Industrialisation

About the role

Manufacturing Engineer – Magnet Industrialisation at Proxima Fusion, a fast‑growing European fusion company, will support the industrialisation of production processes for high‑temperature superconducting magnets used in stellarator fusion plants.

Key responsibilities

• Define requirements for industrialised manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure performance, repeatability and safety.
• Contribute to the development of in‑process monitoring and non‑destructive testing methods.
• Determine and justify quality requirements to maintain product performance while enabling smooth manufacturing.
• Design jigs and tools for magnet industrialised production.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians across multiple teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• Broad experience in manufacturing process development, process monitoring and non‑destructive testing in an industrial setting.
• Strong hands‑on experience with production processes such as welding, machining, assembly and bonding.
• Hands‑on experience in prototyping and testing.
• Proven ability to create development plans from start to finish for new processes.
• Experience troubleshooting issues on production lines.
• Reliable, proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Effective team player able to collaborate with engineers and technical staff.
