Manufacturing Unit Manager – Critical Power

About the role

ABB is looking for a Manufacturing Unit Manager (General Manager) for its Critical Power manufacturing facility in Quartino, Switzerland. The role reports to the Business Line Leader and covers the full scope of production, engineering, planning and fulfillment, quality, logistics, service and HR. It is an onsite position in Quartino, contributing to the Smart Power division.

Key responsibilities

• Execute a customer-focused operations strategy derived from the business and functional strategy of the business unit.
• Deliver the 4C operational targets: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Inventory, and drive productivity.
• Own on-time/on-margin project execution and deliver project EBIT and cash.
• Drive continuous improvement of business processes and procedures and improve customer satisfaction.
• Build an effective, capable and high-performing organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business studies.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in operations or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, negotiation and communication skills in English.
• Italian at an advanced level preferred; ability to work with Italian-speaking colleagues.
• Ideally based in Switzerland; relocation support available, and cross-border commuters from Italy are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Experience with factory operations, production and production planning.
• SAP exposure.
• Workforce management and vendor management.
• Knowledge of HSE and business compliance standards and regulations.
