Philanthropy Advisor – Major Donor Relations

About the role

MSF is seeking a motivated Philanthropy Advisor to expand and nurture relationships with individual major donors across German‑speaking Switzerland and Liechtenstein. You will play a key part in securing financial support for our humanitarian missions, ensuring donors feel valued and informed about the impact of their contributions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, delivering personalized stewardship.
• Qualify donors in collaboration with the Prospect Researcher and coordinate with the Team Coordinator.
• Organise donor meetings, events, webinars and present funding opportunities.
• Provide timely information on MSF projects, priorities and outcomes.
• Solicit financial contributions directly and track engagement through the CRM system.
• Support prospect research and contribute to fundraising strategy development.

Required profile

• Passion for humanitarian work and MSF’s mission.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Experience in donor cultivation, stewardship or fundraising preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team.

• Proficiency with CRM systems for donor management.
• Research and analytical abilities for prospect qualification.
