Programme Officer – Organizational Excellence & Ecosystems

About the role

The International Trade Centre seeks a Programme Officer to support the Institutions and Ecosystems Section within the Division of Enterprise Competitiveness and Institutions. The role focuses on strengthening business support organisations (BSOs) and their ecosystems to deliver inclusive, sustainable development outcomes aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in adapting, implementing and evaluating programmes and projects, monitoring progress and preparing corrective actions.
• Conduct organisational assessments, ecosystem mappings and facilitate workshops, coaching and capacity‑building activities.
• Research, analyse and synthesize information from diverse sources to inform strategy development.
• Design and administer surveys, analyse data, and produce evidence‑based reports and recommendations.
• Prepare written outputs such as mission reports, assessment reports and ecosystem maps.
• Support consultative meetings, conferences and outreach events, including agenda setting and material preparation.
• Develop and nurture BSO networks, share best practices and contribute to knowledge management.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in development, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Experience in programme management, consulting or capacity‑building for development organisations.
• Strong analytical, research and report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
