Project Manager – High‑Voltage R&D (Zurich)

About the role

HD Hyundai Electric Switzerland is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead R&D projects that develop environmentally friendly and intelligent equipment for future power networks. The role is based in Zurich and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support R&D projects focused on green and digital technologies for power systems.
• Analyse test data to identify trends and opportunities for product improvement.
• Conduct parametric and sensitivity studies using advanced simulation tools and numerical models.
• Represent the company in international committees such as CIGRE, IEC and IEEE and present at conferences.
• Publish technical papers and provide technical support to the global organization.
• Design, develop and analyse high‑voltage components in line with international standards and customer requirements.
• Perform feasibility studies, create new technical concepts and evaluate product performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related energy/power systems field.
• More than 10 years of experience in project execution and R&D, preferably in high‑voltage technology.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Excellent communication, intercultural collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.
• Independent, proactive and self‑motivated personality.

• VBA programming.
• Advanced simulation tools for parametric and sensitivity analysis.
• Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods.
• LCA‑driven design principles and sustainability‑oriented engineering approaches.
