Project Support and Coordination Consultant

About the role

The Project Support and Coordination Consultant will contribute to the UNDA18 project, which aims to improve statistics on digital services trade for gender‑responsive policies in Asia and the Pacific. Based in Geneva, the consultant will work closely with national statistical offices in six participating countries.

Key responsibilities

• Assess national statistical frameworks, methodologies, data sources and compilation practices related to trade in services, digital trade and gender‑related statistics in Bhutan, Indonesia, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan.
• Collect and review documentation, metadata, questionnaires and administrative data used for trade in services statistics.
• Identify data gaps, methodological approaches and institutional arrangements relevant for TiSSTAT implementation.
• Support testing, validation and deployment of the Trade in Services Statistics Information System (TiSSTAT) in participating countries.
• Prepare technical inputs, data structures and documentation required for pilot data collection and indicator production.
• Develop training materials, guidance notes and deliver capacity‑building workshops for national counterparts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in assessing statistical frameworks and data sources for trade in services, digital trade or gender‑related statistics.
• Ability to support system implementation, testing and validation activities.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, assessment reports and training resources.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with national statistical offices, central banks and other institutions.
