R&D Senior Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and results‑oriented R&D Senior Engineer to lead product engineering for high‑performance miniature circuit breakers. The role combines technical development, project leadership, and strategic analysis within a hybrid work environment based in Schaffhausen.

Key responsibilities

• Lead senior‑level product engineering, including pre‑studies, planning, evaluation, and development of key features for miniature circuit breakers.
• Act as lead engineer or project manager, coordinating cross‑functional teams, solving complex technical problems, and delivering strategic recommendations.
• Perform technical and business analysis of proposed solutions to support corporate decision‑making.
• Identify, propose, and implement innovative solutions to drive successful technology and product development.
• Manage technology lifecycle by selecting effective applications, equipment, and methods for new product development and market launch.
• Maintain and expand expertise through continuous monitoring of cutting‑edge technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of proven experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of low‑voltage mechanical and electrical systems, interface design, and plastic/metal part design.
• Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and experience with global suppliers and manufacturing plants.
• High self‑motivation, quick learning ability, and a results‑oriented, proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is highly preferred.
