Regional Coordinator – CITES Tree Species Project (Asia)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a Regional Coordinator to lead the implementation of the CITES Tree Species Project across Asia. The role supports the launch of shortlisted projects, maps planned activities, and ensures high‑quality outputs for all target countries.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the rollout of CITES Tree Species initiatives in the Asia region.
• Maintain electronic communication with the CITES Secretariat through emails and online meetings.
• Participate in field missions and international meetings as required.
• Prepare a final report summarising results, outputs, and activities achieved.

Required profile

• Experience in environmental project coordination or related fields.
• Familiarity with CITES, forest governance, and sustainable trade concepts.
• Ability to work independently from a home‑based setting and travel when needed.
