Regional Coordinator – CITES Tree Species Project (Central & South America, Caribbean)

About the role

The Regional Coordinator will support the launch and implementation of the CITES Tree Species Project across Central and South America and the Caribbean. Working remotely, the coordinator will liaise with the CITES Secretariat, national authorities and project partners to ensure high‑quality outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the smooth start of shortlisted projects in the CSAC region, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
• Map planned activities, monitor progress and compile electronic reports for the CITES Secretariat.
• Coordinate virtual meetings, email communications and online collaborations with stakeholders.
• Participate in field missions and international meetings as required, following the CITES travel policy.
• Prepare a final comprehensive report summarising results, outputs and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in environmental projects, forest governance or biodiversity conservation.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel for field missions and meetings when resources allow.
