About the role

ABB is looking for a Research Scientist to shape the future security architecture of its software‑based products, focusing on protecting industrial systems in an increasingly connected world. You will join an international team of scientists at ABB Research, working on cutting‑edge OT cybersecurity challenges.

Key responsibilities

Contribute to and lead research projects that turn state‑of‑the‑art results into effective software solutions for ABB.
Create prototypes of innovative concepts with real business impact and evaluate new technologies for ABB products and roadmaps.

Required profile

PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Hands‑on experience in software engineering and system design with a proven publication record at top‑tier venues.

Required skills

Deep knowledge in OT security, computer security, distributed systems, embedded systems, secure communications or applied cryptography.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python or Rust.
