Safety Physician Oncology – Clinical Safety & Pharmacovigilance

About the role

Debiopharm is seeking a Safety Physician specialized in Oncology to join its Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance team in Lausanne. You will lead safety evaluation for oncology (and antibiotic) products in development, working closely with the Head of Clinical Safety and cross‑functional experts.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and establish the safety profile of oncology products in collaboration with internal experts and external vendors.
• Provide medical input for accelerated‑approval documents, investigator brochures, and development safety update reports.
• Conduct safety surveillance, including medical review of individual cases and ongoing signal detection.
• Oversee outsourced medical activities performed by the pharmacovigilance vendor.
• Develop and lead implementation of a signal‑detection tool together with clinical medicine, biometry, and clinical pharmacology functions.
• Participate in study teams, IDMC meetings, and internal safety task forces in a matrix environment.

Required profile

• Medical degree (M.D.) with experience in clinical safety during early drug development phases.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in clinical safety within a global biotech/pharmaceutical company or CRO.
• First experience in oncology drug development is an asset.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines and maintain high quality standards.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite.
