Senior Accountant – Reporting, Controlling & Process Improvement

About the role

AB Commodities is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen its global Accounting and Administration team in Geneva. The role combines hands‑on accounting under Swiss GAAP FER with month‑end close, reporting, multi‑jurisdictional consolidation and the first‑time implementation of IFRS. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, local accounting teams and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post manual journal entries, maintain the chart of accounts and support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities under Swiss GAAP FER.
• Produce monthly management reports, perform variance analysis, and support budgeting, forecasting and liquidity dashboards.
• Lead group consolidation, intercompany reconciliations and the transition from Swiss GAAP FER to IFRS.
• Assist the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, including data migration, testing and go‑live readiness.
• Develop and maintain internal control matrices, monitor control completion and support internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to standardise, automate and improve accounting, reporting and closing processes across jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Degree in accounting or finance; qualified Swiss CPA or progressing towards it (or equivalent).
• Strong practical experience with Swiss GAAP FER, month‑end close and consolidation.
• Hands‑on experience with IFRS implementation or conversion projects.
• Proven experience in ERP migration, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
