Senior Associate, Communications – Ocean Action Agenda

About the role

The World Economic Forum is seeking a Senior Associate, Communications to support its Ocean Action Agenda. Based in Geneva, this temporary position (Nov 2026 – Jun 2027) will help shape and deliver internal and external communications for ocean‑focused initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement communications plans aligned with the Forum’s Annual Meeting 2027 and Ocean Agenda strategy.
• Support project leads in designing messaging, ensuring accurate and coherent content across factsheets, websites, and reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to produce announcements, digital assets, and social media collateral.
• Plan and execute communications for events, milestones, and report launches.
• Draft blogs, articles, media releases, and create simple design assets such as social‑media tiles.
• Track media coverage and communications outputs, contributing to performance reporting.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, marketing, international relations, environmental studies or related field.
• Proven experience developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives.
• Ability to translate complex technical or policy topics into engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills in English; additional language a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Canva for design.
• Competence with social media platforms and digital communications tools.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (advantageous).
