Consumer Communications Director

About the role

Explora Journeys, a new luxury cruise brand based in Geneva, is seeking a senior editorial and marketing leader to define and deliver its consumer communications strategy. The role will shape the brand voice across all touchpoints and drive onboard marketing that enhances guest experience and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and own the brand editorial standards, creating clear, emotionally engaging messaging that reflects luxury hospitality.
• Lead the creation and scaling of brand‑aligned copy for stories, destination narratives, and hospitality experiences across multiple channels.
• Maintain rigorous editorial quality, personally signing off every consumer‑facing piece.
• Direct the onboard marketing team, crafting content for printed materials, digital screens, app and in‑suite TV.
• Manage an external copywriter network to ensure consistent quality, speed and cost efficiency.
• Champion responsible use of Gen‑AI tools to increase creative scale, speed and efficiency while preserving brand standards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of editorial, copywriting or brand storytelling experience, preferably in travel, cruise or luxury sectors.
• Native English speaker, British English strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership, coaching and ability to work in a matrix organisation.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated, persuasive, luxury‑brand copy.

Required skills

• Exceptional English writing, editing and proofreading.
• Experience with Gen‑AI and AI‑assisted content creation workflows.
• Knowledge of SEO and GEO copywriting principles.
