Senior Backup Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup Engineer to join a global infrastructure team. You will own the administration, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our enterprise backup environment, ensuring reliable backup and recovery for critical business systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support backup and restore operational activities across the enterprise environment.
• Collaborate on planning, design, and execution of disaster recovery tests.
• Implement and enhance monitoring and automation capabilities for backup and restore operations.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of the backup infrastructure, supporting modernization, legacy system transformations, and migration projects.
• Assist with infrastructure‑related activities and participate in an on‑call support rotation.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of practical experience in backup engineering, backup management, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Solid knowledge of SAN storage, Linux and Windows environments, with hands‑on data‑recovery and disaster‑recovery planning experience.
• Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat) and UNIX‑based operating systems; strong interest in automation.
• ITIL and TOGAF certifications are a plus.
• Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and take ownership.
• Strong team player with high integrity, accountability, and professional ethics.
• Fluent in English.
