Senior Business Development Manager – New Business
Jobgether
Job description
About the role
Join an innovative climate‑tech company focused on accelerating the transition to a carbon‑free electricity grid. You will own the zero‑to‑one journey for new commercial opportunities, from market research and hypothesis testing to securing the first paying customers.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, assess and validate new business opportunities adjacent to the existing energy‑management platform, such as battery‑flexibility marketplaces and energy‑trading extensions.
- Conduct primary market research through expert interviews, customer discussions and industry analysis.
- Develop and test business hypotheses, building minimum‑viable prototypes with AI‑powered tools.
- Design and execute small‑scale market tests, gather feedback and assess product‑market fit.
- Lead early‑stage sales activities, engage prospective customers and secure the first paying clients.
- Build robust business cases and present recommendations to the executive team.
- Support sales of the existing platform while exploring complementary products.
- Hand over validated opportunities to commercial and product teams for scaling.
Required profile
- At least 5 years of experience in power and energy markets, preferably in energy consulting, electricity trading, or corporate development.
- Proven track record of identifying and pursuing new commercial opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong professional network across UK and/or European power markets.
- Excellent strategic and analytical thinking, able to move quickly from market signals to validated opportunities.
- Experience in startups or remote‑first organisations and familiarity with flexibility, battery or energy‑attribute‑certificate markets is a plus.
Required skills
- Practical use of modern AI‑powered development tools such as Claude, Cursor and Replit.
What we offer
- Competitive on‑target earnings €77,000–€110,000 per year.
- Performance‑based bonus and equity participation (BSPCE/EMI).
- Remote‑first flexibility with the option to work from home or a coworking space.
- International team gatherings three times a year in European cities.
- Generous annual leave (minimum 30 days) plus public holidays.
- Gym subsidies and access to mental‑wellness therapy.
- Opportunity to shape innovative energy products that support decarbonisation.
