Senior Cloud Architect – Hybrid Multi‑Cloud (Zurich)

About the role

Prostaff is looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design of a secure, scalable, hybrid multi‑cloud environment for one of the world’s top technical universities undergoing a major digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Review, refine and evolve the Digital Campus Integration Architecture Blueprint (IAB).
• Develop cross‑domain concepts such as Zero Trust, ISDS, BYOK/HYOK, observability, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Lead conceptual design for legacy system decommissioning, dependency mapping and archiving.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Informatikdienste, Academic Services, CISO) and external vendors.
• Embed architecture documentation into Ardoq and other enterprise tooling.
• Contribute to the Architecture Competence Centre and shape the university’s long‑term IT strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an ICT/Enterprise Architect in hybrid multi‑cloud environments (Azure, AWS, on‑prem).
• Strong knowledge of Kafka/Event Mesh, API Management and IAM solutions (Entra ID, OIDC).
• Ability to design security, availability, capacity, DR and observability frameworks.
• Broad understanding of M365, Exchange Online, Azure Communication Services and SAP BTP.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks such as COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Excellent communication skills in German (fluent) and English (very good).
