Senior General Ledger Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant, General Ledger, Payroll & Treasury supports accounting, payroll accounting and treasury activities across Incyte’s European entities. Based in Morges, the role reports to the Senior Manager Finance, Payroll & Treasury and works closely with cross‑functional finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including payroll, accruals, pre‑payments and reclassifications for European entities.
• Own assigned GL accounts and perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, analysing P&L and balance‑sheet movements.
• Collaborate with the Payroll team to ensure accurate payroll accounting and resolve related issues.
• Process and reconcile banking transactions in SAP and manage European bank‑account reconciliations.
• Handle day‑to‑day treasury tasks such as cash forecasting, inter‑company settlements and liquidity management.
• Oversee banking administration, including account maintenance and signatory management.
• Assist with statutory audits, SOX testing and internal/external audit requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a multinational environment with strong GL responsibilities.
• Solid technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP, month‑end close and balance‑sheet management.
• Experience in treasury operations, cash management and multi‑currency banking is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
