Senior Legal Counsel – Gas & Power

About the role

The company is expanding its European gas trading platform in Geneva and seeks a commercially‑focused lawyer to support both financial and physical gas trading activities. You will work closely with traders and internal stakeholders, providing practical legal advice in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on European natural gas trading, initially focusing on financial trading and derivatives.
• Draft, review and negotiate ISDA agreements and related derivatives documentation.
• Provide guidance on exchange rules, clearing arrangements and associated contractual matters.
• Support the development of physical gas trading activities and related commercial agreements.
• Identify and manage legal and contractual risks together with trading teams.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer from a common‑law jurisdiction.
• Relevant experience in European natural gas financial trading and derivatives; LNG‑only experience is insufficient.
• Strong understanding of ISDA documentation and exchange‑traded products.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working closely with trading teams.
• Fluent English with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
