Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace (Switzerland)

About the role

ALTEN Switzerland is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its aerospace team and contribute to cutting‑edge aircraft programmes, focusing on cabin and cockpit structures while ensuring safety and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop cabin and cockpit structures.
• Create cockpit system installations for ATA 21, ATA 23, ATA 24, ATA 27, ATA 34 and ATA 53.
• Ensure designs comply with Part 23 regulatory standards and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles.
• Produce detailed 2D/3D models, production drawings and Bills of Materials using Siemens NX.
• Collaborate with engineering, certification and production teams to validate designs and support testing.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in cabin/cockpit structure design and system installations (Part 23 preferred).
• Professional proficiency in English; German is a plus.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Switzerland.

Required skills

• Siemens NX for 3D modelling and drafting.
• Knowledge of ATA 21, ATA 23, ATA 24, ATA 27, ATA 34 and ATA 53.
• Understanding of Part 23 regulatory requirements.
• Design for Manufacturing (DfM) expertise.
• Creation of 2D/3D models, production drawings and BOMs.
