Short Term Internship (1‑6 months)

About the role

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, operates the world’s largest scientific instruments to study fundamental particles. The institute offers a limited number of short‑term internships lasting from one to six months for undergraduate students in technical or administrative fields. Interns receive on‑the‑job training, contribute to CERN’s mission of scientific discovery, and work in a diverse, inclusive environment.

Required profile

• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• Full‑time undergraduate student (technical/administrative diploma, Bachelor or Master degree) aged 18 or older.
• Field of study in applied physics, computing, engineering, instrumentation, materials science, radiation protection, safety, surveying, ultra‑high vacuum, scientific communication, or administrative areas such as translation, accounting, legal services, HR, librarianship, logistics.
• Maintain full‑time registration at your university throughout the internship.
• Good working proficiency in English and/or French.
• Your university must provide full insurance coverage valid in the Geneva area for medical, work and accident risks.

What we offer

• Monthly allowance of 1,593 Swiss Francs (adjusted proportionally for partial months).
