Software Engineer / IT Business Analyst

About the role

Avaloq is looking for a motivated Software Engineer / IT Business Analyst to join its development team. You will work on the Avaloq Banking Suite, one of the world’s largest PL/SQL applications, delivering innovative solutions for wealth‑management clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain new features based on internal and external requirements.
• Understand the Avaloq Core Banking Platform and its related business areas.
• Lead projects from analysis through implementation and testing, including client‑facing interactions.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as root‑cause analysis, bug fixing and code optimisation.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and business analysts.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and other software engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum four years of experience as a software developer.
• Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem solving.
• Quality‑conscious, self‑motivated and goal‑oriented.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Oracle SQL
• Oracle PL/SQL
• Experience with relational databases (RDBMS)
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies
