Test Engineer – Power Electronics & Medium‑Frequency Transformers

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Test Engineer to support the development of medium‑frequency transformers and power‑electronics converters. You will work closely with designers to validate electrical, thermal and magnetic performance, ensuring our solid‑state transformers meet the highest efficiency and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, set up and execute electrical, thermal and magnetic test campaigns on transformers and converters, including cooling systems.
• Design and build test rigs with power supplies, loads, measurement equipment, thermal sensors and data‑acquisition systems.
• Prepare cabling, copper sheet metal and mechanical fixtures for daily test activities.
• Perform efficiency, calorimetric loss, partial‑discharge, insulation and thermal characterisation measurements.
• Analyse test data, identify root causes of failures and propose corrective actions.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, procedures and traceable reports.
• Collaborate with designers from prototype to production‑ready hardware.
• Support compliance testing and certification for safety and industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong hands‑on attitude with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.
