Artwork Creation Manager (m/f/d) – Pharmaceutical Packaging

About the role

The Artwork Creation Manager ensures that artwork, text and graphic elements for Printed Packaging Materials (PPM) are delivered on time and in full GMP compliance, across global requirements. The role manages the PDF creation process according to technical specifications and the Roche Packaging Style Guide, and acts as the main technical contact between internal teams and external service providers. It sits in the Artwork Management group, part of the Product Configuration & Execution Center of Excellence within the Product & Supply Chain Management department.

Key responsibilities

• Create PDFs for printed packaging materials (folding boxes, foils, labels, leaflets) from manuscripts, annotated predecessor PDFs and technical drawings, and create new PDFs for launches and line extensions
• Create and edit graphical templates, die cuts and graphic standards for print templates
• Work closely with the Product Configuration Manager to meet delivery deadlines and solve delays proactively
• Act as the single point of contact for external artwork providers, CMOs and internal stakeholders, and manage file uploads to the PDF library and content sheets in WebCenter
• Create, maintain and document text macros in the Text DB and scripts in Chili where applicable
• Finalise goods for printing and provide printing data to print suppliers, following GMP checklists and archiving relevant data
• Maintain country-specific specifications and graphic documentation, support complaint management and unplanned events in the QMS, and stay compliant with GMP and the Roche Style Guide
• Control artwork, texts and proofs, monitor standards and drive continuous improvement through performance reviews

Required profile

• Digital and Print Media Designer or Graphic Designer, with 5-10 years of relevant experience in pharma or a service provider environment
• Education or qualification in Labelling & Artwork Management (or a related field)
• GMP experience required
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Nice to have: experience with Esko WebCenter, German

Required skills

• Expert-level Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
• End-to-end PDF creation, template management and proofreading according to GMP and style guides
• Artwork verification tools such as GlobalVision, TVT and Esko
