Artwork Creation Manager - Packaging

About the role

The Artwork Creation Manager in Basel prepares artwork for printed packaging materials (PPM) such as folding boxes, foils, labels and leaflets, working closely with the Product Configuration Manager and external packaging sites. The position is full-time, starts as soon as possible (01.02.2027) and runs for 12+ months.

Key responsibilities

• Create and edit PDFs for printed packaging materials from manuscripts, annotated predecessor PDFs and technical drawings, including new PDFs for launches and line extensions.
• Create and edit graphical templates and die cuts, and maintain tables and graphic standards for print template preparation.
• Act as single point of contact for external artwork service providers and internal and external packaging sites, and manage file uploads to the PDF Library.
• Create content sheets in WebCenter and create, maintain and document text macros in the Text DB or scripts in Chili.
• Finalize goods for printing, provide printing data to suppliers, complete GMP checklists and archive task data (GMP/non-GMP).
• Maintain internal country specifications and graphic documentation, manage complaints and support editing of unplanned events in the QMS.
• Stay compliant with GMP regulations, the Roche Style Guide and country-specific technical requirements, and control artwork quality, texts and proofs.
• Manage regular performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Digital and Print Media Designer or Graphic Designer.
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in pharma or a service provider environment; GMP experience required.
• Education or qualification in Labeling & Artwork Management (or related field).
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Nice to have: experience with Esko WebCenter and German.

Required skills

• Expert-level Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
• Solid experience with artwork verification tools such as GlobalVision, TVT (Text Verification Tool) and Esko.
