Climate Adaptation & Resilience Internship with UNEP FI

About the role

The UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Climate Adaptation and Resilience (A&R) programme. Working with the Climate Change team, you will help advance the finance sector’s understanding of climate impacts and contribute to building a more climate‑resilient world.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing A&R work streams and coordinating flagship programmes.
• Support the planning and delivery of regional workshops for the Principles for Responsible Banking Climate Journey.
• Contribute to the Investors Resilience Challenge and the Community of Practice on Adaptation.
• Help manage the Resilience Finance Mobilisation pilot project in Kenya.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for events, webinars, and stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in environmental studies, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in climate change, sustainable finance, and international development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, multicultural team.
