Consultant - Finance Transformation, Data and AI

About the role

EY Switzerland is looking for high-potential consultants and senior consultants for its Business Consulting team focused on Finance, Data Transformation and AI. You will support clients in modernising their finance functions through AI, automation, analytics and emerging technologies, working on projects such as finance process improvement, agentic automation, reporting and analytics, digital finance tools, data management, performance management and operating model redesign. The role suits people who understand CFO and finance team challenges and who can bridge technical requirements and business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of finance transformation projects for clients across industries
• Analyse current-state finance processes, systems, reports, data flows and pain points
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, controls, reporting quality and decision-making
• Translate finance challenges into digital, automation, analytics and AI-enabled use cases
• Work with client teams on requirements, process improvements, data requirements and solution concepts
• Develop dashboards, data models, automation workflows, prototypes and proof-of-concepts
• Contribute to project planning, workstream management, documentation and client presentations
• Support proposals, business cases and transformation roadmaps, and help build internal capabilities in AI, automation and data-driven finance

Required profile

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in finance transformation, consulting, advisory, analytics, automation, data or digital transformation
• Experience on business projects where technology, data or automation was central, and in finance transformation or automation projects
• Understanding of CFO challenges such as cost pressure, faster reporting, better forecasting, data quality and governance
• Experience with finance functions such as Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, consolidation, statutory reporting or performance management
• Academic background in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, STEM, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related field
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CFA or CIMA is an advantage but not mandatory

Required skills

• ETL tools, Python, Power BI, SQL and data management tools
• Generative AI tools and practical applications in business or finance
• Agentic AI use cases, and exposure to Python / PySpark, AI/ML, advanced analytics and data modelling
• VBA, UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate are a strong advantage
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to turn analysis into client-ready outputs
