Finance Manager – Swiss Accounting (Shipping)

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong, hands‑on Finance Manager to lead our Swiss Head Office finance team within the shipping and commodities trading business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals and reconciliations.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting and reporting professionals.
• Oversee monthly and annual closings, preparation of financial statements and Group reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting, tax, VAT and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate audits and tax submissions with external advisers.
• Supervise treasury activities, payments, bank reconciliations and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and management analyses.
• Monitor intercompany transactions and maintain transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Maintain strong internal controls and approval processes.
• Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting and automation.
• Support the CFO with strategic finance analysis and projects.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of relevant accounting, finance or audit experience.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss tax, VAT and statutory‑reporting requirements.
• Experience in shipping, commodities trading or a similar international environment is preferred.
• Comfortable remaining hands‑on while managing and developing a team.
• Fluent professional English and valid Swiss work authorization.
