Global Head of HSE&S

About the role

The Global Head of HSE&S will lead the definition and delivery of an integrated Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability strategy for a leading global pharmaceutical company. Based in Switzerland, this senior position reports to senior leadership and is responsible for embedding ESG, security and responsible operations across the entire organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the global HSE&S strategy, ensuring ESG and security are embedded in business operations.
• Lead the global HSE&S management system, overseeing risk management, regulatory compliance and world‑class safety, environmental and security performance.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, ESG reporting and governance to position responsible operations as a competitive advantage.
• Build and lead a high‑performing global HSE&S function, fostering a proactive culture of safety, security, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to integrate HSE&S into manufacturing, capital projects and operational excellence programmes.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in health, safety, environment and sustainability within a large, global organisation.
• Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
• Track record of building and leading high‑performing, globally dispersed teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives.
