IT Consultant – Systems Maintenance & Database Management

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) seeks an experienced IT Consultant to ensure efficient technical maintenance and upgrades of ASYCUDA systems across the Central Asia region. This home‑based assignment runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate ICT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases supporting ASYCUDA systems.
• Support national teams with hardware installation, software development, installation, and upgrades for local ASYCUDA components such as E‑Borders, e‑Commerce, and ASYPAP.
• Implement integrations with technical control equipment and generate operational/statistical reports on request.
• Log, track, and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring project milestones are met.
• Deliver advanced technical training to national technical teams aligned with project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the ICT sector, including design, development, testing, and piloting of complex applications.
• Experience providing IT services to government organisations involved in import‑export operations is desirable.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) required; knowledge of Russian is a plus.
