Lead Auditor QHSE – Freelance (Switzerland)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Lead Auditor QHSE to conduct integrated quality, health, safety and environment audits for its Swiss clients. The role is performed as an independent consultant with full autonomy, requiring frequent travel across Switzerland and strong multilingual communication.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and execute multidisciplinary QHSE audits in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Identify non‑conformities, prepare audit reports and deliver strategic recommendations to improve client performance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Swiss regulations, EU directives and sector‑specific requirements.
• Use audit software and document management tools to ensure accurate record‑keeping and data analysis.

Required profile

• Engineering or Safety Science degree with a certified Lead Auditor QHSE qualification.
• 5‑7 years of QHSE auditing experience, including at least 3 years as a Lead Auditor for industrial clients.
• Proven experience auditing in Swiss or European organisations across manufacturing, chemical, food, construction, logistics or utilities sectors.
• Fluent in at least one of Italian, French or German; English preferred.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Proficiency with audit software and document management systems.
• Ability to conduct integrated QHSE risk assessments and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Swiss health, safety and environmental regulations and EU directives.
