NewGen Project Manager (Remote)

About the role

As the NewGen Project Manager at ABB, you will shape how projects are planned, delivered and adopted, turning ambitious ideas into measurable business outcomes. The position reports to the Resource Manager, NewGen, and works remotely. You will work with colleagues across functions and business areas, following ABB directives and program management standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define the project planning strategy, delivery approach (waterfall, agile or hybrid), scope, schedule, budget, resources, timelines and work allocation with stakeholders.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver projects within agreed time, scope, cost and quality, keeping plans, charters and progress up to date.
• Create key documents such as scope, acceptance criteria, financials, schedules and risk plans, and guide work through phases and stage-gates.
• Ensure activities follow company, program and IS procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Identify, mitigate and monitor risks, issues and decisions, track progress, costs and resources, and address variances early.
• Act as escalation point for stakeholders, manage expectations, and prepare and drive project and budget approvals.
• Define governance structures and committees, report performance against plans and business outcomes, and ensure smooth handover and lessons learned at project close.

Required profile

• More than 12 years of project management experience, ideally in transformation or change programs.
• Proven track record of aligning projects with program objectives and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Comfortable working in cross-functional environments with many stakeholders.
• Strengths in project planning and execution, resource and budget management, and risk, issue and dependency management.
• A recognized certification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, an Agile/Scrum certification (CSM or SAFe), or ABB Program PM Certified under the IS Function Standard.
