Process Chemist – GMP Manufacturing & Process Optimization

About the role

Techfirm Engineering is seeking a Process Chemist to join its Industrial Services team in the German‑speaking region of Switzerland. You will work closely with production, quality, engineering and R&D to ensure robust, compliant chemical manufacturing under GMP regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chemical and process support to production, QA/QC and engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot process deviations, lead root‑cause investigations and ensure production continuity.
• Maintain stable, GMP‑compliant execution of chemical processes and act as SME for assigned products.
• Support and optimise reaction, synthesis, separation, purification, crystallisation, mixing, blending and formulation steps.
• Drive scale‑up and technology transfer from laboratory to full‑scale production.
• Monitor critical process parameters and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Participate in CAPEX, process development projects and lifecycle management of chemical processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in process chemistry, chemical engineering or manufacturing chemistry.
• Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical or food industries with GMP experience.
• Strong analytical, hands‑on and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Fluent German (mandatory) and ability to work autonomously while collaborating across departments.
