Quant & Analytics Consultant - Financial Services Risk

About the role

EY's Financial Services Risk Advisory team covers consulting and audit projects on risk management for banks, insurers, clearing houses and private equity firms. It is looking for a Quantitative Risk Consultant for its Zurich office, within the Quant & Analytics team, to work on projects with domestic and international clients across financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Review and develop quantitative models for market, credit, operational and fraud-related risks, validating them statistically and presenting results to clients and regulators
• Value financial products and contracts, covering trends in structured products and derivatives
• Analyse clients' risk management and risk appetite and assess compliance with regulatory requirements, setting up processes for consistent model use
• Design AI governance and risk management frameworks, including AI-related model risks
• Support sustainability and climate risk engagements and integrate them into existing risk frameworks

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in a quantitative field (mathematics, physics, statistics, financial or computational engineering, econometrics)
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in consulting, a financial risk management team or a model development/validation team
• Strong interest in financial risk management and proven experience applying quantitative techniques to risk problems
• Excellent written and oral English and German; French is an advantage

Required skills

• Programming in Python, R, C# or VBA is an advantage
• Curiosity about AI, machine learning, LLMs and sustainability in banking and insurance
• Ability to explain complex topics simply to different audiences
