Senior Associate – Financial Services & Regulatory

About the role

Lindemann Law is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Zurich team, focusing on financial services and regulatory matters. The role combines client acquisition, high‑level advisory work and active participation in cross‑border projects within the banking, insurance and asset‑management sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire new mandates and cross‑sell legal services to national and international clients.
• Provide comprehensive advice on banking law, insurance law, collective investment schemes, capital markets and asset‑management regulations, including FINMA and Swiss Code of Obligations.
• Support clients in complying with Swiss and foreign supervisory regimes (e.g., CSSF, MFSA, FMA, BaFin) and AML/KYC requirements.
• Communicate with supervisory authorities and represent clients in regulatory disputes, arbitration and other proceedings.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, conduct due‑diligence and structure complex transactions.
• Contribute to the development of new financial products and services and represent the firm at industry events.
• Collaborate within an international team and leverage AI tools to enhance legal work.

Required profile

• Swiss bar admission with first‑class qualification; additional studies in commercial or financial law preferred; notary licence desirable.
• 5–15 years of relevant experience in a law firm, audit firm, bank or asset‑management institution.
• Fluent in English (professional level) and German (business level).
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a client‑oriented mindset.
• High integrity, analytical thinking and resilience under pressure.
